It starts with a case!

It's a very personal thing, when it comes to what your Gaming PC is going to look like - 90% of our PC's are made in house, tailored to your specification or budget.

There is a massive choice of sizes and colours, from plain to fully blinged up with RGB lighting cases, the choice is yours. From large 'in your face' full size towers, to Gaming PCs about the size of a DVD Recorder, which are both wife and living room friendly.

Our favourite manufacturer is Phanteks, due to the quality of an all metal build and internal placing of components to support cooling, and all sizes of motherboards across the range.

It's your PC and its personal, so you can specify ANY case for your build, you are not limited to what we stock or recommend.

Gaming Graphic Cards

Probably the most important Component for your Gaming PC.

The Graphics card is the part that pushes all your pixels around the screen and generally the higher the number the more powerful the card, a good rule of thumb in our opinion is to place a 1/3 of your budget on choosing your card.

More Details on the GeForce GTX Range

Based on the latest Pascal architecture the GeForce GTX 1050 is equipped with 640 cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory and delivers three times the performance of the GTX 650 and double that of the GTX 750 Ti. Choose a GTX 1050 to enjoy all the latest games at 60fps at 1920 x 1080; also ideal for low-power, small form factor PCs.

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is based on the latest Pascal architecture which provides awesome performance while consuming very little power. Armed with 768 cores and 4GB of GDDR5 memory the GTX 1050 Ti provides smooth frame rates in all games at 1920 x 1080.

The 3GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060 mid-range graphics card has fewer cores than the 6GB version (1152 versus 1280) but it is significantly more cost effective. As the fourth card based on the new Pascal architecture it not only runs games faster than previous generation Maxwell cards, but consumes less power and is quieter.

The 6GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060 mid-range graphics card has more cores than the 3GB version (1280 versus 1152) and so runs games faster. As the third card based on the new Pascal architecture it not only runs games faster than previous generation Maxwell cards, but consumes less power and is quieter. Keep an eye out for the latest Plus versions which have higher clocked memory for even faster performance in games.

The GeForce GTX 1070 is the second GPU using the new Pascal architecture that replaces older Maxwell cards such as the GTX 970. Pascal means much higher performance and power efficiency, so the GTX 1070 with 1,920 cores is ideally suited for gaming at resolutions such as 2,560 x 1,440 or a VR headset

The GTX 1070 Ti is positioned between the GTX 1070 and 1080 and with 2,432 cores is ideally suited for gaming at resolutions such as 2,560 x 1,440 or a VR headset.

The GeForce GTX 1080 is the first GPU based on the new Pascal architecture that is built using a tiny 16nm FinFET process for increased performance and power efficiency. With 2,560 cores running at 1.6GHz or higher plus 8GB of super-fast GDDR5X memory the GTX 1080 powers through games at high resolutions including 4K plus VR headsets such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Keep an eye out for the latest Plus versions which have higher clocked memory for even faster performance in games.

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is the latest graphics card based on Pascal architecture and is so powerful it delivers silky smooth frame rates in games at 4K and VR. Featuring 3584 cores and a whopping 11GB of GDDR5X memory the GTX 1080 Ti is the most powerful gaming graphics card on the market and is a perfect combination with a high resolution monitor or VR headset

Currently stock and pricing of graphics cards is very problematic as the Bitcoin mining phenomena is artificially inflating prices as much as 80% and this does have an impact on pricing of cards and the relevant systems they are for, everybody is in the same situation from the supply chain to the reseller to the system build, hopefully this will settle down soon but we don’t have a crystal ball.

CPUs, Memory and Motherboards

Team Red or Team Blue? Intel Or Ryzen, it's your call.

We have embraced the relaunch of AMD's Ryzen platform and in 2017 it was roughly a 60/40 split in the favour of Intel. Intel is still the best Gaming centric CPU with the i5 7600K and 7700K being our most popular builds, both unlocked and ready to overclock.

Cooling is again a choice, Air or Water either element is fine, water cooling is becoming very cost effective and is now our first choice in premium builds.

Ryzen is fantastic value for money with multiple cores and more L3 Cache (memory on the CPU), these chips are great for Gaming but are fantastic for Media Creation, Video editing etc.

Memory is currently priced quite high due to constraints, minimum for a gaming build should be 8GB, you can also choose plain, heatsinked and RGB ram depending on your budget.

Motherboards vary by features and chipset, from entry level boards to our all singing dancing Asus Prime boards with every feature under the sun. We use Asus (the clear market leader), MSI as a rule and Gigabyte at a push due to having not much support from the Company in question. Every single board we use will support M2 storage as this is our default storage medium for a very strong reason.

All M2 or SSD Drives are not created equal.

A standard mechanical hard drive shifts your data at approx. 85-150(read/write) Megabits a second, a standard SSD (Sata) should achieve 300-560(R/W) or 550 -500(R/W) on a premium SSD.

Enter the Samsung Evo 960 based on the Polaris chipset, these M2 drives achieve an amazing 3200/1800 speed, that's 6 times faster than a standard SSD and nearly 30 times faster than standard HDD's. Nearly every one of our Gaming builds has a Samsung 960 Evo and a standard mechanical drive for Data/Steam Library.

What does this mean in the real world, under 10 second boot times, faster app and game loading meaning you are the first one on the map in a multiplayer game (depending on network speeds).
